Working with American Hat Sizes
Use a measuring tape to measure around the portion of your head where a hats headband would normally fall. Keep in mind that many of Hatterniques patterns create hats and caps that fall above this area. Also remember that the measurements below are generally larger than the measurement of a finished knitted or crocheted cap as the garments strech plays a factor in sizing.
